Joanna Abrahams

Joanna Abrahams is Setfords’ Head of Family and one of the country’s few experts in parental alienation – the process by which a parent turns their child or children against the other parent.

Through working with our PR team Joanna has become the leading voice on the subject appearing on BBC Two’s Victoria Derbyshire programme, BBC Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour, as well as across the national and trade press including The Guardian, The Telegraph and The Law Society Gazette. Joanna’s increased profile and tireless efforts to increase awareness of parental alienation led to her being mentioned during a House of Commons debate in March 2017.

Julian Wilkins

Julian Wilkins

Julian Wilkins is one of the country’s leading IP and media lawyers and within just two weeks of joining Setfords the PR team helped him secure a major feature in the leading television trade magazine, Broadcast. In his article Julian outlined the positive and negative impacts Brexit is likely to have on television and film production in the UK.

John Newell

John Newell is a highly regarded litigator and his representation of ex – England football manager Kevin Keegan in his hacking case against Mirror Group Newspapers secured coverage across the media. After working with our PR team John was quoted in a number of media outlets including The Guardian, The Daily Mail, The Evening Standard, The Telegraph and BBC News.

Marketing & Business Development

Setfords is one of the country’s only law firms to have an all-encompassing digital team designed to support lawyers with their marketing needs.

The department includes web and design teams which ensure the very latest tools, both traditional and digital, are being used to promote Setfords consultants.

The team work closely with the business development department to provide Setfords lawyers with additional revenue streams, generating millions of pounds in new business.

Head of Digital Marketing

Kieran Smith heads the digital department and has over 10 years’ experience working both in-house and in agencies. Kieran is a specialist in digital marketing and helps lawyers establish a presence online through bespoke landing pages, social media and sponsored marketing.

Ben Shaw

Ben Shaw

Head of Web Development

Ben Shaw has over 10 years’ experience in web development. He worked for several years within digital agencies before joining the Setfords in-house team. Ben builds web sites, applications and systems to drive efficiency for lawyers and clients alike.

Aaron Freeman

Aaron Freeman

Head of Design

Aaron Freeman is a multi-disciplined designer who has worked with some of the world’s most recognised brands including Lego, Mizuno and O2. Aaron oversees all creative projects for Setfords, designing marketing and advertising materials for our lawyers to ensure their message best connects with their target audience. Aaron also leads on the firm’s identity and brand across all platforms.

Head of Business Development

Marissa brings a wealth of experience in business development and sales having worked with a wide range of international blue chip and corporate clients including JP Morgan, Chase de Vere, Tanfield Chambers and Lincoln’s Inn. Marissa leads a team of business development executives who generate in the region of £2 million in revenue for our consultants every year.
